ANSWER TO MYSTERY TECHNIQUE #41: I began by coating Arches Cover with diluted sizing. After it dried, I used a large brush to draw the outline of a shape with water; I then added enough water to create a puddle on the surface, which caused the paper to form hills and valleys. Next I added liquid watercolor. The edges of the puddled paint dried multiple times, forming a series of lines.
