Art WORKS Photos, Sneak Preview, and More!

What a surprise to find that my pieces were chosen to represent the Art WORKS Collection on the Metro Arts kiosk! It was a lovely reception and lots of fun to hang out with the other artists and tour each floor to see all the art. Here I am with the other artists and the Board of Metro Arts Commission:

If you missed the Open House, you can see the collection anytime during regular business hours at the Metro Office Building. My pieces are on the 3rd floor near the elevator.

 

 

 

I’ll be teaching lots of classes and workshops in 2019, including a new one called Creating Watercolor Textures. It’ll be on Saturday, February 16, at Plaza, and the details will be on my website soon!

Open House and New Classes!

Hope you can join me at an Open House on December 20th! Metro Arts is celebrating their 40th anniversary and the installation of the Metro Office Building’s selection of Metro’s Public Art Collection, and 2 of my pieces are included! The community is invited to see the art, meet the Art WORKS artists and Metro Arts staff, and enjoy light refreshments at the “40 for 40” Open House on Thursday, December 20th from 1-3 pm.

This is Keeping Secrets, one of my pieces in the Art WORKS Collection. You can learn some of the techniques I used when you sign up for the new Mixed Media Winter Session series of classes starting on January 17. It’s almost full, and so is the Watercolor Basics workshop on January 19, so sign up soon if you’re interested! You can find out the details here:

2 Show Openings and More!

Hope you can join us on Thursday, Oct. 4, for the opening of the Tennessee Watercolor Society’s Exhibition at the Green Hills Library Branch. The opening reception will be from 6-7pm, and the show ends  October 30. Look for my work in the cases!

And you’ll have the chance to see this flexicube at Watkins College of Art during the Building Character: From A to Izzard gallery show  from October 11-25; it’s part of the annual Handmade & Bound festivities. I’m looking forward to seeing some wonderful work and catching up with old friends at the opening on October 11. The reception starts at 5:30pm!

 

 

 

There’s always lots to do at Plaza’s Hands on Creativity Event on October 27 and 28, and I’ll be demonstrating both days! It’s free, and there’ll be lots of Make It-Take It opportunities: hope you can join us!
