My Art & Nature events at the library are over, but the adventures will be continuing all over Nashville because the library Kits will be ready for checkout in June! There’ll be tools and an Activity Guide to get you started and a journal to record your discoveries; I can’t wait! Many thanks to everyone who helped me turn this idea into reality, including the Metro Arts Commission, the Bellevue and Richland Park Branch Managers and staff, the  Circulation Department,  and the many volunteers who assisted at the events. And special thanks to Patricia Earnhardt for all the wonderful photos!

There’s still time to see my installations at both Branches:

As you can see from these photos, everyone had a great time at the very first Art & Nature Adventure Day, and we’re doing it again on May 6! This time we’ll be at the Richland Park Branch Library; you can drop in any time between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm. Thank you to all my fabulous helpers, and special thanks to Patricia Earnhardt for these wonderful photos!

We’ll be back at the Bellevue Branch on May 13 from 2 and 4 pm. On May 20, you can join us at the Richland Park Branch anytime between 10:30 and 12:30.

Hope you’ll help spread the word; we’re even giving away free magnifiers (while supplies last)!

To add to the fun, I’ve created Installations for each Branch. See how many of the creatures you can spot; they’re scattered all over both Branches! Here’s a sneak preview; watch the nest for new additions sometime this week!

There’s still time to catch The Treasures of Warner Parks exhibition at the Warner Park Nature Center; it continues through the end of May. Glimpse is already over, though; if you didn’t make it last night, you missed a fun party and a fabulous show in the new silos at Watkins College!

I’ll be posting my summer class and workshop schedule next week, so be sure and check the website for new listings! I’ll be teaching adult classes at Plaza, Watkins College and the Library.

Looking for a fun and family-friendly way to celebrate Earth Day? Then join me for Art & Nature Adventure Day at the Bellevue Library! Make a nature journal, and decorate the cover in your own style. Observe nature up-close and learn more about the new Art & Nature Adventure Kits. Drop in anytime between 1 and 4 p.m.; it’s free! I’d love to have a few more volunteers, so just let me know if you’d like to help; hope to see you on April 22!

And here’s another opportunity to celebrate nature — come to the opening reception for The Treasures of Warner Parks on Friday, March 31st; view work by more than 20 members of Tennessee Watercolor Society, including me! Hope to see you sometime between 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Warner Park Nature Center!

I’ve also got a Mixed Media class and a Watercolor Basics workshop coming up in April; you can find out the details here: https://www.elizabethsanford.com/classes/
