Watercolor Sculptures

2_Reshaping the Shadows-Understory1

I’m a watercolor painter who was seduced by the book arts. I’m drawn to the luminosity of fluid paint on paper and the look of layered color. Turning my paintings into books allows the colors to escape the frame and creates rich possibilities for layering color as well as meaning. Watercolor sculptures also allow me to explore my love of language, and moveable structures are the ideal habitat for my words and colors to play together.

Watercolor sculpture seems like a new concept..they appear to be blocks, but such amazing designs.. are they displayed as blocks, books?
All the pieces are awesome! Especially the black and white!

Thanks, Radha! Many of the pieces fall in the category of book arts; display varies depending on the venue.
