ANSWER TO MYSTERY TECHNIQUE #9: Melted wax was applied to the paper with various tools; then liquid color was added. After more wax was applied, the paper was crumbled before another layer of color was applied. An iron was used to remelt the wax and transfer it to other paper.

ANSWER TO MYSTERY TECHNIQUE #8: Layers of liquid watercolor mixed with granulation medium and acrylic ink were applied to partially wet watercolor paper.
